The Tarheel chapter of the North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association (NAVHDA) is based in central North Carolina. This logo incorporates some of the native birds in the area (a woodcock and a wood duck). The design includes two types of pointing dogs commonly seen in NAVHDA – shorthaired pointing breeds and wirehaired pointing breeds.
